Job Information Job Description Core Responsibilities Overall Technical Ownership: Heads the engine department and supervises all engineering officers and ratings, typically through the Second Engineer . Machinery Management: Oversees the main propulsion engines, boilers, generators, and auxiliary systems (pumps, refrigeration, etc.) to ensure a trouble-free voyage. Environmental Compliance: Serves as the designated Environmental Control Officer, ensuring the vessel adheres to MARPOL regulations for pollution prevention and waste management. Resource Planning: Manages bunkering operations (fuel and lubricants), maintains spare parts inventories, and monitors daily fuel consumption. Safety & Emergency Response: Ensures firefighting and lifesaving equipment are in working order and leads the engine crew during mandatory emergency drills. Administration: Maintains the engine room logbook, Oil Record Book (Part I), and vessel certificates, reporting technical status directly to the Master. Skills and Qualifications: AT LEAST 18 MONTHS OF EXPERIENCE AS  CHIEF ENGINEER WITH OR WITHOUT VALID US VISA  HOLDING VALID DOCUMENTS  Benefits JOB EMPLOYMENT
