Celestyal Cancels More Aegean Cruises Amid Delays
Celestyal Cruises has announced the cancellation of another Aegean Sea sailing due to the ongoing situation in the Arabian Gulf. In a statement released on Tuesday, the company confirmed that the April 3, 2026 cruise aboard Celestyal Discovery will no longer take place.
The cancellation is linked to delays in the vessel’s repositioning journey back to the Eastern Mediterranean. Celestyal said it is currently working to finalize arrangements for the ship’s return, ahead of its planned summer season in Greece and Turkey.
The cancelled voyage was set to depart roundtrip from Lavrion and operate as a three-night cruise.
The itinerary included calls at:
- Mykonos
- Kusadasi
- Patmos
- Heraklion
- Santorini
before returning to the port near Athens.
Celestyal confirmed that all passengers who had been onboard its ships in the Middle East have now safely disembarked.
As we reported yesterday, at present, Celestyal Discovery remains docked in Dubai, while CelestyalJourney is located in Doha, Qatar.
“Both vessels remain fully operational, and their departure from the region will take place in accordance with guidance from the relevant authorities,” the company said.
“We continue to monitor developments closely and remain focused on resuming our planned program as soon as possible,” Celestyal added.
Passengers booked on the cancelled sailing will be offered either a full refund or a future cruise credit. Celestyal has advised affected guests to contact their travel provider to discuss available options and next steps.
With this latest update, a total of five cruises aboard Celestyal Discovery in the Eastern Mediterranean and Aegean have now been cancelled due to the situation in the Middle East.
The 1,360-passenger ship had originally been scheduled to begin its European season on March 20, 2026, following its winter deployment in the region.
