Heritage Expeditions has announced a special preview sailing aboard its newest expedition ship, Heritage Discoverer, set to take place in November.

The vessel, which previously operated as Exploris One and Silver Explorer, joined the Heritage fleet earlier this year and will now sail under its new name. This exclusive voyage will take place ahead of the ship’s official 2027–28 inaugural season.

Named “The Ultimate South Georgia, Falklands and Antarctic Peninsula Cruise,” the 21-day journey will run from November 19 to December 9, 2026, departing and returning to Ushuaia.

Heritage Discoverer was purpose-built for authentic adventures like this and I can think of no better first voyage than navigating and exploring the rich history, astounding wildlife and frozen landscapes of these wild and remote parts of the world,” said Heritage’s commercial director and expedition leader, Aaron Russ.

The itinerary includes two days exploring both East and West Falkland Islands, where guests can encounter a wide range of wildlife including penguins, albatrosses, Southern Sea Lions, South American Fur Seals, and Southern Elephant Seals.

The voyage will then continue with four days in South Georgia, often referred to as the “Serengeti of the Southern Ocean,” where guests can visit Grytviken and pay their respects at the grave of Sir Ernest Shackleton.

The final leg of the journey includes five days exploring Antarctica at the start of the season, when daylight can extend beyond 20 hours each day.

The timing of the expedition aligns with the beginning of the wildlife breeding season, when animal activity is at its peak and icebergs are particularly striking.

Planned landing sites may include Cuverville Island, Paradise Bay, Port Lockroy, Petermann Island, Cierva Cove, Whalers Bay, Brown Bluff, and Elephant Island.

Heritage Expeditions is offering a 40 percent discount for returning guests and a 30 percent discount for new travelers who book by June 30, 2026.
