Cunard Reveals Cruise for America250 Celebration
Cunard has announced the itinerary for a special voyage marking the 250th anniversary of the United States in New York.
The Queen Mary 2 will take part in the Sail4th gathering of tall ships, joining more than 100 vessels expected to pass through New York Harbor during the celebrations. According to the cruise line, the event will feature the largest flotilla of tall ships ever assembled from around the world.
The seven-night sailing will celebrate the maritime connection between the United States and the United Kingdom. The cruise departs on July 3, 2026, and returns to New York on July 10. The itinerary begins with two days in New York before the ship visits Newport on July 5. A day at sea follows.
On July 7 and 8, the Queen Mary 2 will call at Halifax, Canada where guests can explore attractions including the city’s famous star-shaped fortress and the statue of Sir Samuel Cunard. The voyage then concludes with another day at sea before arriving back in New York on day eight.
Cunard also confirmed that two guest speakers will sail onboard during the cruise. These are Dr. Seth Gopin, an Art History lecturer from Rutgers University, and maritime historian Bill Miller, widely known as “Mr. Ocean Liner,” who has authored more than 100 books about passenger ships.
