Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) has announced the appointment of Jeroen Eijsink as its new CEO, effective October 1.

Eijsink, 52, brings over 25 years of international experience in logistics and transportation. Originally from the Netherlands, he began his career at Siemens in the digitalisation sector before moving to Deutsche Post DHL in 2003. There, he held key leadership positions, including CEO of DHL Freight Germany and CEO of DHL Freight Benelux & UK.

In 2015, he joined global freight forwarder C.H. Robinson, where he served as President of European operations, overseeing significant regional growth. Most recently, in August 2023, he became CEO of Girteka Group, a major European road transport company.

Eijsink will take over from outgoing CEO Angela Titzrath, who steps down on September 30 after serving nine years in the role. Her tenure included the strategic entry of Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC), which acquired a 49% stake in HHLA, the primary operator of Germany’s largest port.

Eijsink’s initial contract is set for three years. His appointment places him among other high-profile Dutch executives in Hamburg's maritime sector, such as Rolf Habben Jansen, who has led Germany’s top shipping company, Hapag-Lloyd, for over a decade.
