Port of Rouen Ends 2025 with Strong Ocean & River Cruise Activity
The Port of Rouen concluded its 2025 cruise season with a final visit from Fred. Olsen’s Balmoral on December 17 to 18. Over the course of the year, the port recorded 18 ocean cruise calls and 983 river cruise calls.
High end river cruising stood out as a major highlight, with more premium and luxury vessels choosing Rouen as either a turnaround port or a transit stop on Seine River itineraries linking Normandy and Paris. The port also hosted several overnight calls throughout the season.
In a press release, Rouen noted that bookings for 2026 already indicate continued growth. The port is expecting 16 ocean calls and 1,095 river cruise calls next year, supported by new river ships entering service on the Seine.
Rouen reported ongoing strong relationships with core repeat customers, including:
- Olsen Cruise Lines
- Hapag-Lloyd Cruises
- Silversea
- Windstar
- Ambassador
- Azamara
The port also celebrated the inaugural visit of Seabourn’s Sojourn and noted that most of its cruise traffic consisted of premium and luxury vessels.
According to port officials, the latest figures reinforce Rouen’s position as an upscale destination for both ocean and river cruises. Its appeal lies in offering content rich itineraries, longer port stays, and convenient access to Normandy attractions as well as day trips to Paris, Versailles and Giverny.
Rouen added that it is continuing to invest in infrastructure upgrades, with improvements to cruise facilities and services designed for small and midsize ships, the main segment of its ocean cruise business.
