Woman Dies After Fall on Carnival Firenze Cruise
A woman has died after falling from a balcony on board the Carnival Firenze while the vessel was sailing off the coast of California.
The incident occurred on April 27 near Catalina Island. Initial reports indicate that the woman fell from her cabin balcony onto a lower deck. Family members traveling with her quickly informed the crew.
Crew responded immediately, but despite their efforts, the woman could not be saved. Her identity has not been disclosed, and the circumstances surrounding the fall remain unclear.
Authorities have been notified, and an investigation is expected to follow. Reports suggest that federal agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, are working alongside local officials to determine what happened.
Carnival Cruise Line said in a statement that its Care Team is providing support to the woman’s family and confirmed that the company is fully cooperating with investigators.
The Carnival Firenze, which operates cruises from Long Beach, was on a scheduled voyage at the time. The ship continued its itinerary, with authorities expected to meet it upon arrival in port to carry out a full investigation.
