Carnival Already Half Booked for 2027 at Record Prices
Carnival Corporation has already booked half of its available capacity for 2027, with both occupancy and pricing reaching record levels, CEO Josh Weinstein said during the company’s third-quarter earnings call on Tuesday.
Bookings made during the third quarter further strengthened the company’s position, with Weinstein reporting healthy increases compared with the same period last year. He identified June as a turning point for booking momentum, with demand accelerating further during July and August.
Customer deposits also reached a third-quarter record of approximately $7.6 billion, representing an increase of around 7 percent from $7.1 billion a year earlier. This came despite capacity remaining essentially flat over the coming 12 months.
With demand continuing to grow well ahead of our intentionally measured capacity growth, we have an opportunity to keep managing the booking curve for price,” Weinstein said.
Looking further ahead, Weinstein said bookings for 2028 have also started strongly. Occupancy is running above last year’s levels, while pricing is even higher, with the booking curve extending further out than ever before at this point of the year.
The booking disruption experienced by Carnival during the spring had extended into the first quarter of 2027. However, Weinstein said bookings for that period have recovered significantly over the past three months.
Demand has remained strong across different markets, including peak summer deployments in Europe with Weinstein noting that many guests who postponed their travel plans this year have instead decided to cruise in 2027.
Carnival Corporation CFO David Bernstein also said that more than half of the company’s onboard revenue is now being booked in advance, supported by the popularity of bundled packages.
