The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that four vessels were attacked while sailing through the Strait of Hormuz on September 28 and 29.
The first incident took place on September 28 when a vessel was hit by an unidentified projectile, resulting in a fire onboard. The blaze was subsequently extinguished, and all crew members were reported safe.
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) identified the vessel as the Kuwait-flagged crude oil tanker Al Funtas.
A further three vessels were struck by unknown projectiles while transiting the Strait of Hormuz on September 29, according to UKMTO. In the first of these incidents, a crude oil tanker was hit on its port side while passing through the strait.
A second incident involved an inbound tanker that was also struck by an unidentified projectile. The IMO identified the two vessels involved as the Vanuatu-flagged Mersin Prosperity and the Liberian-flagged tanker Sinbad.
