Century Cruises has officially announced its expansion into the global market through a new partnership with United Waterways, marking its entry into Europe’s river cruising sector.

Under the agreement, United Waterways will serve as Century’s full-service partner, overseeing operations and infrastructure development across key European regions.

In a press release, United Waterways stated that the collaboration is marked by a service agreement designed to attract Century Cruises’ clientele to Europe’s rivers, broadening access to high-end river cruise experiences throughout the continent.

“Europe represents a strategic growth market for us,” said Alex Ye, CEO of Century Cruises. “With United Waterways as our European liaison, we benefit from its deep expertise in infrastructure and compliance, allowing us to confidently introduce our clientele to the cultural richness of Europe’s waterways. Concordia Damen’s reputation for excellence aligns seamlessly with our values of quality, innovation and environmental stewardship,” Ye added.

Stefan Bloch, COO of United Waterways, commented, “We’re proud to support Century Cruises in its global expansion. Together, we aim to elevate the river cruising experience for Century’s guests, showcasing the best of European craftsmanship and service.”

At the heart of this new alliance is the Century Star, a newbuild vessel to be constructed by renowned Dutch shipbuilder Damen. The ship will play a central role in Century’s entry into the European cruise market.

The collaboration underscores both companies’ shared commitment to innovation, sustainable practices, and enhancing the overall cruise experience—while also contributing to ongoing investment in Europe’s shipbuilding industry.
