Coast Guard Evacuates Pregnant Passenger From Carnival Ship
A U.S. Coast Guard crew from Station Miami Beach medically evacuated a pregnant woman from a Carnival cruise ship off the coast of Miami on Thursday after she developed medical complications.
The rescue took place about four miles northeast of Government Cut. After being safely removed from the vessel, the woman was transferred to waiting emergency medical personnel. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue then transported her to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Officials have not released any information regarding her condition.
Our crews stand ready to help those in distress get the care they need,” the Coast Guard’s Southeast district said.
The Coast Guard did not identify the cruise ship involved in the operation. However, photographs shared alongside the announcement appear to show the Carnival Sunrise, formerly known as the Carnival Triumph.
