The 2026 cruise season at the Port of Cork got underway on April 13 with the arrival of AIDAluna, marking the vessel’s first-ever visit to Cork Harbor.

This call signals the start of a busy season, with 93 cruise ships and more than 175,000 passengers expected between April and November.

In addition, Bantry Bay Harbor is set to welcome 11 cruise ships this year, beginning on April 26, according to a statement from the Port of Cork Company (PoCC).

“The launch of the 2026 cruise season is an important moment for the Port of Cork. We are pleased to welcome a strong schedule of vessels again this year, and we continue to see the positive impact cruise tourism has on local businesses, suppliers and communities,” said Ann Doherty, PoCC CEO and chair of Cruise Ireland.

The AIDAluna is one of six ships scheduled to make their first call to Cork during the 2026 season. This year’s lineup includes a mix of luxury, expedition, and large cruise vessels arriving from the United States, Canada, Germany, and other parts of Europe.
