Cunard took on the role of headline partner for the 50th anniversary of the Olivier Awards, hosting the ceremony at London’s Royal Albert Hall on April 12th, the company confirmed in a press release.

“Cunard’s connection to theatre, arts and culture has been part of our rich history for 185 years,” said Katie McAlister, president of Cunard.

“It’s a privilege to be the headline partner of the Olivier Awards in its 50th year as these awards truly celebrate the very best of British theatre and its global impact, from the talent on stage to the creativity behind the scenes.”

Cunard has maintained a partnership with the Society of London Theatre for the past seven years, bringing West End productions onboard through a range of theater and cultural experiences at sea.

In 2025, the Olivier Award-winning musical Come From Away was performed at sea for the first time aboard Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria. Meanwhile, Pride and Prejudice (Sort Of) was staged onboard Queen Anne.

Looking ahead, Cunard’s London Theatre at Sea event, created in collaboration with the Olivier Awards, will return in May 2026 for its third edition aboard Queen Mary 2. The program will include behind-the-scenes discussions, workshops, and live performances.

The voyage is scheduled to sail from Southampton to New York between May 22 and May 29, 2026, and will feature The Oliviers in Concert with the Royal Court Theatre orchestra, alongside interactive sessions and a gala evening.
