On April 29, the passenger vessel FCN Adventure ran aground on a sandbank near Nordfjordeid in Vestland County, Norway. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the vessel was successfully freed later with assistance.

The grounding took place around 6:00 PM local time when the FCN Adventure became stuck on the sandbank. According to the vessel’s owners, they believe the strong currents created by the propellers of a nearby Aida cruise ship caused the vessel to drift onto the sandbank.

At the time of the incident, the FCN Adventure was not carrying passengers and only had its crew on board.

Although the plan was to wait for high tide to help free the ship, a small assisting vessel was able to tow it off the sandbank after several hours.

The FCN Adventure sails under the Norwegian flag and was built in 1999. The vessel measures 23.99 meters in length, has a beam of 10 meters, and carries a gross tonnage of 177.
