Fred Olsen Hosts Hospice Malta Team for Wellbeing Day
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines welcomed a group of healthcare professionals from Hospice Malta onboard its ship Bolette for a dedicated wellbeing day while the vessel was docked in Valletta.
A total of 39 staff members took part in the initiative, which was designed to offer a break from the challenges of working in palliative care. The day included a guided tour of the ship, a creative crafts activity, and a shared lunch, giving attendees time to relax and enjoy a different environment.
For many of the participants, it was their first experience onboard a cruise ship, which they described as both meaningful and uplifting. Highlights included the warm reception from the crew and the opportunity to visit the ship’s bridge.
The event aimed to acknowledge the commitment and compassion shown by Hospice Malta’s team, who provide support to patients with serious and life-limiting conditions, as well as their families.
Crew members also found the experience rewarding, as it allowed them to give something back to those who dedicate their careers to caring for others. The initiative reflects Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ wider focus on community engagement, building positive connections in the destinations it visits and contributing beyond its core cruise operations.
