Holland America Fleet to Mark America’s 250th Anniversary

Holland America Line is set to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with a range of special activities and events aboard cruises sailing over the July 4 holiday weekend.

According to the cruise line, guests can look forward to themed entertainment, live performances, commemorative souvenirs and exclusive dining experiences created for the occasion. Selected itineraries will also feature activities designed to recognize the nation’s history, culture and heritage.

“We’re excited to bring the spirit of America’s 250th anniversary to life across our fleet with experiences that feel both celebratory and uniquely Holland America Line,” said Michael Stendebach, senior vice president of food, beverage and rooms division for Holland America Line.

From live entertainment and themed events to American-inspired dining and our special ‘Stars & Stripes’ cruise, these experiences are designed to capture the energy and pride that make this milestone so meaningful. We have worked with intention to create moments that feel fun, memorable and connective.”

On Independence Day, ships operating in North America will host special celebrations featuring live performances as part of the cruise line’s “Soundtrack of America” entertainment program.

Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in lawn games, Fourth of July-themed trivia contests, scavenger hunts and live cooking demonstrations showcasing traditional American flavors and culinary favorites. Special menus inspired by classic Independence Day celebrations will be available throughout the fleet, including themed breakfast and dinner offerings as well as holiday-inspired beverage selections.

In addition, *Zuiderdam *will depart from Boston, Massachusetts, on July 4 for a dedicated “America’s 250th Celebration: Stars & Stripes” cruise.

The itinerary includes visits to historically significant U.S. destinations, including Norfolk, Virginia, along with an overnight stay in New York City. During the voyage, guests will also enjoy a special “Great American Songbook” concert highlighting iconic American music.

Passengers sailing on the “Stars & Stripes” cruise will receive an exclusive commemorative bandana created specifically for the voyage. Guests sailing on other July 4 holiday cruises will receive a keepsake pin marking America’s 250th anniversary.
