MSC Cruises has completed a significant refurbishment of MSC Magnifica at the Palumbo shipyard in Malta, and the vessel has now begun its winter Mediterranean program before setting off on a 132 day world cruise in January.

During the two month drydock, the ship received several major updates. These include two new specialty restaurants, Butcher’s Cut and Kaito Sushi Bar, along with a redesigned spa and upgraded Technogym fitness center. The wellness areas now feature a new barber salon, updated workout studios and an expanded outdoor Aurea space.

MSC confirmed that the MSC Yacht Club, the brand’s ship within a ship concept, will be added to Magnifica for the summer 2026 season when the vessel operates Northern Europe itineraries from Warnemünde, Germany.

Sister ship MSC Poesia is scheduled to enter drydock at the same Malta yard in February 2026 for a similar enhancement program. Poesia’s upgrades will include a 69 suite MSC Yacht Club, a new sports bar and the same specialty dining, spa and fitness improvements. These updates will be completed ahead of the ship’s and MSC’s first Alaska season, with Poesia sailing from Seattle in summer 2026.

In 2027, MSC Magnifica will operate a 121 night world cruise visiting 45 destinations in 25 countries, which will mark the first time the MSC Yacht Club is available on a world voyage.

Bookings have also opened for Magnifica’s 2028 world cruise, a 115 night itinerary that travels from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean, across the Pacific and through Australasia, Asia and the Arabian Peninsula before returning to Europe.
