Norwegian Getaway Passenger Risks Life for Selfie VIDEO
A concerning video shared on social media shows a passenger standing on the outside of Norwegian Getaway to take a selfie while the cruise ship is docked.
The footage shows the passenger well beyond the designated guest area, standing by themself on a narrow exterior section of the vessel close to the bow. There appears to be no safety barrier between the passenger and the edge, leaving them at risk of a potentially fatal fall onto the pier or into the water below.
After taking the selfie, the passenger can be seen attempting to return to their cabin by climbing back over the balcony railing. The hazardous maneuver involves them jumping across the railing from the exterior section of the cruise ship before making their way back onto the balcony.
It is not known when the footage was recorded.
Cruise lines enforce strict safety regulations that prevent passengers from climbing over balcony railings or accessing restricted areas of their ships. Similar dangerous behavior has resulted in fatal incidents in the past.
