Norwegian Jade and Gem Unveil New Upgrades After Refit

Norwegian Cruise Line has revealed additional details about the new and enhanced venues introduced aboard the recently refurbished Norwegian Jade and Norwegian Gem. Both ships completed scheduled drydock projects in April before returning to service in May.

“These recent transformations bring some of our most beloved amenities to Norwegian Jade and Norwegian Gem, creating greater consistency across our fleet while giving guests more ways to personalize their vacation — from adults-only outdoor spaces to serene relaxation areas designed to help them unwind at sea.”

As part of the refurbishment, both vessels received upgraded Thermal Suites within the Mandara Spa and Salon. The redesigned areas now feature additional heated tile loungers, a more centralized layout with an improved reception area, and refreshed steam rooms and saunas.

The spa enhancements also include several new wellness experiences:

  • An Ice Room with chilled air
  • An IV Lounge
  • Four-Senses Loungers
  • A salt room
  • A Charcoal Sauna featuring a radiant heating system and charcoal-lined walls

The Norwegian Jade received additional upgrades, including new Experiential Showers with multiple water jets and lighting effects, along with a Plunge Pool designed for short cold-water immersion sessions. On the Norwegian Gem, the existing hot tub and Thalassotherapy pool were modernized as part of the project.

Both ships also gained a new Vibe Beach Club, replacing the former sundeck on Deck 14. The adults-only retreat now offers more than 50 lounge chairs and seven private cabanas.

In addition, Norwegian Jade now features a newly opened licensed Starbucks location.

Through late summer 2026, the Norwegian Jade is sailing seven-night Alaska cruises from Vancouver, British Columbia, and Whittier (Anchorage), Alaska.

Meanwhile, the Norwegian Gem is operating Mediterranean and Greek Isles itineraries from Rome (Civitavecchia) and Venice (Ravenna), with calls at ports including Cannes, Florence/Pisa (Livorno), Split and Dubrovnik.

Later in 2026, the Norwegian Gem will reposition to Tampa, Florida, to offer Caribbean and Bahamas cruises, while the Norwegian Jade will begin a new deployment in Asia.
