Ovation of the Seas to Gain 40 Cabins in 2026 Refit

Royal Caribbean International plans to add 40 new staterooms to the Ovation of the Seas as part of its upcoming drydock refurbishment.
The 2016-built vessel will undergo upgrades under the cruise line’s Royal Amplified program before starting its 2026 summer season in Alaska.
Most of the additional cabins will be located on Decks 12, 13, and 16, taking over spaces currently used for a conference center, a suite lounge, and part of the fitness center. Another 19 staterooms will be introduced on Decks 5 and 9, replacing technical areas and the ship’s Photo Gallery.
Public areas are also set for major changes. Casino Royale will expand into the former lower level of the Music Hall on Deck 3, while the upper level of that venue on Deck 4 will be converted into a new nightclub. Nearby, Starbucks will take over the spot previously held by Le Patisserie.
Other venue updates include the addition of the Pesky Parrot Bar, first launched on Utopia of the Seas in 2024, replacing the Bionic Bar. Dining options are also being revamped, with Izumi Teppanyaki replacing Wonderland and Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen taking over the space currently occupied by Jamie’s Italian.
With Deck 12 redesigned for new cabins, the Suite Lounge will relocate to Deck 14, replacing the teen’s area.
Earlier this year, Royal Caribbean confirmed that Harmony of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas will also be refreshed under the Royal Amplified initiative, aimed at “amplifying the vacation offerings” across its fleet.
