The Port of San Diego has announced the start time for Big Bay Boom, described as the largest Fourth of July fireworks display on the West Coast.

The Independence Day celebration will begin at 9:15 PM on July 4, 2026, with fireworks launched at the same time from four barges positioned around San Diego Bay. The show will feature a colorful display synchronized with a musical simulcast.

“The Port of San Diego Big Bay Boom is our region’s signature and most anticipated annual Independence Day tradition, and we’re eager to put on a great event as we celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary,” said Chair Ann Moore, Port of San Diego Board of Port Commissioners.

Gather your friends and family, grab a comfy lawn chair, and join us for an incredible evening on San Diego Bay.”

Carnival Cruise Line, as previously announced, will serve as the official cruise line sponsor for this year’s event. Passengers sailing during the holiday on Carnival Radiance, Carnival Firenze, and Carnival Luminosa will have the chance to view the fireworks while the ships are anchored close to San Diego Bay.
