A second crew member has been detained as Swedish authorities continue investigating the tanker Sea Owl 1, which remains under detention in Sweden. The latest arrest is linked to suspected falsified documents used onboard the vessel.

The *Sea Owl 1 *was first detained on March 12 near Trelleborg after sailing through Swedish waters while reportedly operating under a false Comorian flag. The vessel is also included on the European Union sanctions list.

One crew member was initially taken into custody following the detention but was later released. Afterward, a new captain assumed command of the ship, and additional paperwork, including registration documents for a new flag state, was submitted to the Swedish Transport Agency. Authorities now suspect those documents may also be fraudulent.

As a result, Swedish prosecutors launched a new preliminary investigation, leading to the arrest of another crew member.

The Swedish Coast Guard carried out further investigative operations onboard the vessel under the direction of prosecutors, with assistance from the regional task force of Police Region South.
