Adora Mediterranea to Host Beijing Opera Themed Cruises

Adora Cruises has announced a pair of special themed voyages celebrating Beijing Opera aboard the Adora Mediterranea during this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival and China’s National Day holiday.

The “Beijing Opera Sets Sail” cruises will take place on two six-day, five-night itineraries departing Tianjin on September 25 and October 1, 2026. The sailings will visit several South Korean destinations, including Seoul (Incheon), Jeju, Yeosu, and Busan.

According to a press release from Adora Cruises, the voyages are being organized in partnership with the National Beijing Opera Company and will offer guests an immersive program of live performances and cultural activities centered around the traditional art form.

Passengers will have the opportunity to watch performances of classic Beijing Opera productions, alongside expert talks that explore the history, techniques, and cultural significance of this iconic Chinese performing art.

In addition to the stage performances, guests can participate in a variety of hands-on experiences, including Beijing Opera mask painting, opera-inspired paper-cutting, traditional craft workshops, trivia competitions, and themed games.

One of the highlights of the cruises will be the addition of Chinese-style flash performances to the ship’s Golden Nile Ancient Egypt party. Adora said this unique combination is designed to create an East-meets-West celebration that blends Chinese cultural traditions with Mediterranean-inspired entertainment.

To mark both the Mid-Autumn Festival and China’s National Day, the Adora Mediterranea will also host a range of festive activities, including mooncake-making classes, a Mid-Autumn garden fair, themed game shows, singing competitions, a National Day flag-raising ceremony, and special holiday gala dinners.
