AIDAdiva and AIDAperla Meet in Tenerife Port, Spain
Two ships from AIDA Cruises were scheduled to meet yesterday, Monday, March 16, 2026, in Santa Cruz on the island of Tenerife. The world cruise vessel AIDAdiva was docked alongside AIDAperla, which was carrying out a partial passenger exchange as it transitioned from its Caribbean voyage and Atlantic crossing to a nine-day cruise through Western Europe.
The meeting in Tenerife is notable because neither ship has been based in the Canary Islands during the winter season. Both vessels are currently returning to Northern Europe following their winter itineraries.
AIDAdiva is nearing the end of its first-ever world cruise and is scheduled to arrive in the Port of Hamburg on March 23, 2026. Two days later, on March 25, AIDAperla will also reach Hamburg, where it will spend the upcoming summer season operating regular sailings.
Encounters between two AIDA ships in the same port are often considered a special moment for both passengers and crew. Sometimes the vessels arrive or depart together, although that is not expected on this occasion. According to the schedule, AIDAdiva will leave Tenerife roughly two hours before AIDAperla.
After departing, AIDAdiva will continue toward Madeira and Lisbon before completing its 2025–26 world voyage. AIDAperla will follow a longer route back to Hamburg, visiting several additional ports along the way. Its upcoming stops include Lanzarote, Lisbon, Leixões near Porto, La Coruña and Cherbourg.
