'America’s Cruise Line' Carnival Unveils New Patriotic Ship Crest
Carnival Cruise Line has announced a new fleetwide design feature as part of efforts to strengthen its identity as America’s Cruise Line.
The Carnival Legend became the first vessel to receive a new bow crest, which highlights the cruise line’s connection to the United States. Featuring the “From Sea to Shining Sea” design, the ship returned to service on Wednesday after completing a 16-day drydock in Freeport, Bahamas.
Carnival said the new crest was introduced ahead of Memorial Day weekend and was inspired by the song “America the Beautiful.”
“With the debut of this new crest, we’re reinforcing what guests have long known: Carnival is proud to be America’s Cruise Line,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.
“We sail coast to coast and connect with millions of guests every year, and this crest reflects the reach of our brand across the U.S. – from the communities we visit to the memories we help create at sea,” she added.
According to Carnival, the crest is designed to celebrate “the landscapes and oceans Carnival shares with guests nationwide.”
The new design will gradually be added to Carnival’s U.S.-based ships during future drydocks and new ship deliveries. Exceptions include Carnival Jubilee and Carnival Tropicale, which are scheduled to feature the Texas star on their bows when *Tropicale *joins the fleet in 2028. The Carnival Magic is expected to become the next ship to receive the crest, returning to PortMiami from drydock on May 26.
To celebrate the launch, Carnival invited veterans from the Miami Veteran Affairs Healthcare System onboard to view the new design and receive America250 challenge coins in recognition of their service. Carnival also stated that it hosts more active-duty military personnel and veterans than any other cruise line, with military appreciation gatherings taking place on every North American voyage.
The debut of the crest comes ahead of America250 celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the United States. From June 4 through July 4, Carnival guests across the fleet will be able to take part in patriotic-themed activities including trivia events, crafts, and ship meetups timed around Independence Day fireworks celebrations on both U.S. coasts.
