Aurora Sails P&O’s 75-Night Epic South America Voyage
Aurora departed Southampton earlier this month to begin P\&O Cruises’ “Epic South America Journey.”
Sailing roundtrip from the UK, the 75-night itinerary is taking the ship on a full circumnavigation of South America, with calls in Brazil, Uruguay, the Falkland Islands, Chile, and Peru. Before returning to England, the 76,000-ton vessel is also scheduled to transit the Panama Canal and continue on to several destinations in the Caribbean.
Among the standout moments of the voyage is Aurora’s first-ever call to the Brazilian port of Santos, along with a visit to Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands. The itinerary also features multiple overnight stays in major South American cities, including Rio de Janeiro, Montevideo, San Antonio, and Callao.
Another key highlight is scenic cruising around Cape Horn, widely regarded as the southernmost point of the Americas.
Following its Panama Canal transit, Aurora will sail onward to a variety of Caribbean ports, including Aruba, Curaçao, Grenada, and Barbados. Additional destinations on the long voyage include Las Palmas in the Canary Islands, Mindelo in Cape Verde, and Ponta Delgada in the Azores.
Built by the Meyer Werft shipyard and delivered in 2000, Aurora has recently celebrated 25 years of service with P\&O Cruises. The vessel also underwent refurbishment work in the Netherlands in early 2025, with updates to several public spaces and onboard features. Enhancements included new cabin chairs, refreshed balcony furnishings, improvements to open-deck areas, and other upgrades.
Aurora is scheduled to repeat a similar itinerary in 2028, launching another edition of P\&O’s “Epic South America Journey” from Southampton on January 3.
