Bremerhaven Cruise Port Wraps Up Strong 2025 Season
Bremerhaven Cruise Port, operated by Global Ports Holding, has closed its 2025 cruise season with solid results, pointing toward a positive outlook for 2026.
According to the port, a total of 100 cruise ship calls were handled during the year, bringing around 292,000 passengers through the terminal. Timo Schoen, general manager of Bremerhaven Cruise Port, commented: “The 2025 season demonstrated Bremerhaven’s strength as a turnaround port, particularly in managing complex operations and peak embarkation days.”
“Our focus remains on operational efficiency, close coordination with cruise line partners, and continuous improvement as we prepare for a strong 2026 season,” Schoen added.
In a press release, the port noted that its 2025 performance underscored its ability to handle high-volume turnaround days while consistently maintaining service standards.
Bremerhaven Cruise Port benefits from a long, single cruise pier that can berth up to three large cruise ships at the same time. The terminal features adjustable passenger boarding bridges, six dedicated embarkation points, and clearly organized passenger processing areas. Passenger check-in is located on the ground floor, along with a dedicated luggage drop-off zone, supporting efficient passenger movement and smooth operations on turnaround days.
Looking ahead, the port expects the upcoming season to include a combination of returning cruise lines and established itineraries.
Bremerhaven also highlighted the wide range of shore excursion options available to passengers, which help enhance the turnaround experience. Alongside local attractions, trips to nearby Bremen remain a major draw. As one of Germany’s oldest cities, Bremen offers UNESCO World Heritage sites, cultural landmarks, and easy access to the city center.
The port said it will continue prioritizing operational excellence, strong partnerships with cruise lines, and the further development of destination and shore excursion offerings that add value to cruise itineraries.
