Costa Favolosa Begins Transatlantic Voyage to Europe
Costa Favolosa has departed Buenos Aires in Argentina, beginning a repositioning cruise back to Europe after completing its recent South American season.
Following a four-month deployment in the region, the Costa Cruises ship is now sailing on a 19-night transatlantic itinerary bound for the company’s Palacrociere Cruise Terminal in Savona, Italy.
Transatlantic Itinerary Highlights
The voyage includes a wide range of destinations across multiple continents, with scheduled calls in:
- Punta del Este and Montevideo in Uruguay
- Rio de Janeiro and Recife in Brazil
- Mindelo in Cape Verde
- Santa Cruz de Tenerife in Spain
- Tangier in Morocco
- Barcelona and Marseille in Europe
The cruise is set to conclude in early April upon arrival in Savona.
Mediterranean and Northern Europe Plans
After reaching Europe, Costa Favolosa will operate a series of spring cruises in the Mediterranean and Atlantic regions. Its first itinerary in this phase is an 11-night sailing from Savona, visiting Spain, France, and Portugal. Ports of call include Marseille, Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante, Cartagena, Málaga, Cádiz, and Lisbon.
In mid-May, the ship will reposition to Hamburg, Germany, where it will begin its Northern Europe season. These itineraries will feature destinations across Scandinavia, Iceland, and the British Isles.
The vessel is scheduled to remain in Northern Europe through early November before heading to the Caribbean for the winter season.
Recent South America Season
Costa Favolosa has spent the past four months operating in South America, serving key markets in Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina.
The 2012-built ship began Costa’s 2025-26 season in the region with short cruises from Santos in late November. By late December, it had moved to Buenos Aires, offering itineraries that also allowed embarkation in Rio de Janeiro and Montevideo.
Wider Deployment in the Region
Alongside Favolosa, Costa Cruises also deployed the larger Costa Diadema in South America this season. The ship arrived in early November for a charter program and is scheduled to continue offering cruises between Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil through late April.
