Carnival Drops Tracy Arm Fjord From Alaska Cruises
Carnival Cruise Line has announced it will no longer include Tracy Arm Fjord in its Alaska itineraries for the upcoming summer season.
In a notification sent to booked guests, the cruise line confirmed that the change impacts sailings aboard Carnival Miracle, Carnival Luminosa, and Carnival Spirit.
“We have been closely monitoring geological conditions in Tracy Arm Fjord. The waterway is currently not suitable for cruise ship navigation,” the company explained.
“So, we have made a minor adjustment to our itinerary and will be cruising Endicott Arm Fjord instead,” Carnival continued.
Carnival noted that the adjustment is relatively minor, with ships effectively altering their route within the fjord system. The company explained that vessels will “essentially be turning right instead of left upon entering the fjords.”
Endicott Arm, the alternative destination, was highlighted as offering “equally breathtaking scenery,” with Carnival expressing confidence that guests will still enjoy the experience.
Pre-booked shore excursions will automatically be updated to reflect the revised itineraries.
The changes apply to:
- All Carnival Miracle departures between April 27 and September 17, 2026
- All Carnival Spirit sailings from April 28 to September 15, 2026
- Selected Carnival Luminosa departures on April 27, May 11, May 25, June 8, June 22, July 6, July 20, August 3, August 17, August 31, and September 10, 2026
Both Carnival Spirit and Carnival Miracle will operate seven-night Alaska and Canada cruises from Seattle, with itineraries including ports such as Skagway, Ketchikan, Victoria, and Juneau, in addition to Endicott Arm.
Meanwhile, Carnival Luminosa will sail from San Francisco for the first time, offering extended 11-night itineraries. These longer cruises feature stops in Prince Rupert, Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway.
