Celebrity Infinity Alters Itinerary After Power Outage in Kudasi

After experiencing a power outage while docked in Kusadasi, Celebrity Cruises has informed guests that the remainder of the Celebrity Infinity’s itinerary has been modified.
In a letter sent to passengers, the cruise line thanked guests for their patience and flexibility, emphasizing that guest safety and well-being remain its top concern.
“The Celebrity Infinity will remain in the beautiful port of Kusadasi, Turkey, through Friday at 3:00 p.m., with an all-aboard time of 2:00 p.m. We will then set sail and return to Athens, Greece, for debarkation as originally planned on Saturday,” the letter stated.
“Please know that this decision was not made lightly, and was taken with your safety and comfort as our foremost concern.”
To acknowledge the unexpected change, Celebrity Cruises is offering guests a 50% refund of their cruise fare, issued as a refundable onboard credit.
Additionally, passengers who had booked shore excursions in Thessaloniki and Mykonos will receive automatic refunds in the form of onboard credits posted to their SeaPass accounts.
Despite the extended stay, the cruise line is offering complimentary curated tours on Thursday that extend beyond Kusadasi and Ephesus, giving guests a broader look at the region.
“Though we are staying alongside a little longer, our staff and crew are very pleased to be able to offer complimentary curated tours for Thursday that will go beyond Kusadasi and Ephesus,” the message added.
For travelers who arranged independent excursions, Guest Relations will assist by offering a complimentary phone call to contact their tour providers.
Any remaining refundable onboard credit balances at the end of the cruise will be reimbursed to guests’ cards on file within up to 14 business days after disembarkation.
