Russian authorities have reported another Ukrainian drone attack on the port of Tuapse, which caused a fire and led to at least one death overnight on April 20.

The incident took place only hours after emergency services had brought under control a previous fire linked to a similar strike on April 16. Regional governor Veniamin Kondratiev said Tuapse had been targeted in a large-scale drone assault, confirming that one person was killed and another was injured.

He also noted that debris from the drones caused damage to multiple sites across the city, including a kindergarten, a primary school, a church, and a residential apartment building.

Russia’s defense ministry stated that 112 Ukrainian drones were intercepted and destroyed during the attack. At the same time, the Krasnodar Krai task force reported that the strike resulted in an oil spill in waters near the port.

Containment measures have been put in place, with oil booms deployed and six vessels, including speedboats and oil skimmers, working to manage the cleanup.
