The cruise ship Celestyal Journey collided with a pier in Kuşadası, Turkey, on April 15th during a docking maneuver that went awry.

As the ship approached the Aegean Port around noon, it failed to stop in time and struck the pier, resulting in minor damage to both the vessel and the dock structure. Several onlookers recorded the incident on their cellphones.

The Celestyal Journey, a passenger cruise ship registered under the flag of Bermuda, measures 220 meters in length and 32 meters in width. Originally built in 1994, the ship was acquired by Celestyal Cruises in 2023.

Fortunately, the incident was minor and no injuries were reported.
