Cruise Ships Resume Voyages After Hormuz Reopens

Following the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic, six cruise ships that had been delayed in the region are now preparing to return to service.

CelestyalDiscovery was the first cruise vessel to pass through the Strait of Hormuz following the outbreak of conflict in the Middle East.

The ship had remained docked in Dubai since late February before making its transit on Friday. It is expected to restart operations in the Eastern Mediterranean in early May.

CelestyalJourney has already transited the Strait of Hormuz and is now on its repositioning voyage back to the Eastern Mediterranean.

After leaving Doha on April 17, 2026, the ship is set to begin welcoming passengers again on May 2, 2026, in Greece.

Mein Schiff 4

Mein Schiff 4 is scheduled to resume passenger operations from Trieste on May 17, 2026.

The vessel, one of two TUI Cruises ships affected by the situation in the Middle East, has now passed through the Strait of Hormuz and is returning to Europe.

After remaining docked in Qatar for nearly two months, Mein Schiff 5 began its journey back to Europe on April 17, 2026.

Sailing with a reduced crew, the ship is expected to take a route around Africa before resuming its regular operations in Greece on May 15, 2026.

MSCEuribia is currently heading toward Northern Europe and is expected to restart its regular schedule on May 16, 2026.

Departing from ports in Germany and Denmark, the 4,888-passenger vessel will operate seven-day cruises to the Norwegian Fjords throughout the summer season.

Aroya

Status: Sailing in the Arabian Gulf
Next Scheduled Cruise Departure: May 14, 2026, from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Upcoming Itineraries: Spring Season in the Red Sea followed by summer in the Eastern Mediterranean

Aroya remains in the Arabian Gulf after calling at Dammam earlier this month.

At the time of writing, the vessel was en route to the Port of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates without passengers onboard.

The 3,400-passenger ship is expected to begin its spring program in the Red Sea on May 14, 2026.
