Cunard Adds Room Service Fees for Britannia Guests

Cunard has announced the introduction of new room service fees for passengers staying in Britannia-grade staterooms, according to a recent statement from the cruise line.
Guests with existing bookings received a letter detailing the change, which applies to all four ships in Cunard’s fleet.
“We are writing to inform you of a change in our room service onboard. Across the fleet, we are introducing new charges that will apply to room service dishes served after 10:00 AM in Britannia grade staterooms,” Cunard stated.
The cruise line clarified that breakfast items ordered before 10:00 a.m. will continue to be available at no extra cost.
“Of course, you’re welcome to dine at the buffet, where you’ll find a selection of dishes throughout the day and into the night, all included in your fare,” the message continued.
Meals served in the ships’ main dining rooms—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—remain included in the standard cruise fare.
The new charges apply only to Britannia accommodations, with Princess Grill and Queens Grill suites unaffected by the update.
In other developments, Cunard recently wrapped up a significant refurbishment of the Queen Elizabeth. The 2010-built ship completed drydock in Singapore in March 2025 in preparation for its upcoming Alaska season.
The refurbishment brought refreshed staterooms, upgraded public areas, and new amenities, especially for guests in Grills suites. One highlight is a newly introduced Gala Evening menu curated by Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux.
According to Cunard, the menu features a refined three-course dining experience meant to showcase elevated cuisine at sea. Guests in the Grills category also now enjoy additional comforts following the refurbishment, including redesigned furnishings and enhanced onboard experiences.
