Disney Cruise Line Earns 13th Vancouver Blue Circle Award
Disney Cruise Line has received the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority’s 2025 Blue Circle Award, marking the 13th time the company has been honored for its environmental initiatives and commitment to sustainable cruise operations.
The award recognizes shipping and cruise operators that demonstrate excellence in reducing emissions and limiting environmental impacts through participation in the Port of Vancouver’s EcoAction Program.
One of the key components of Disney Cruise Line’s sustainability efforts in Vancouver is its use of shore power technology. When the infrastructure is available, Disney Wonder connects directly to the port’s electrical supply while alongside, allowing the vessel to shut down its engines and significantly lower emissions during port calls.
Disney Cruise Line representatives accepted the award during a ceremony organized by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority. The recognition highlights the long-standing relationship between the cruise line and the port, as well as Disney’s continued focus on environmental stewardship.
Disney Cruise Line is also expanding its presence in Vancouver. In 2026, Disney Magic joined Disney Wonder in operating Alaska cruises from the Canadian gateway, representing the first season in which two Disney vessels have sailed from Vancouver simultaneously.
In addition to emission-reduction measures, Disney Cruise Line continues to invest in programs focused on energy conservation, waste reduction and the protection of marine ecosystems. The company also supports communities in the destinations it serves through volunteer initiatives and collaborative local projects.
