On May 8, the inland freighter Carisma was involved in a collision with two Viking river cruise ships on the Rhine River in Cologne, Germany. Thankfully, there were no injuries or environmental damage reported.
The accident occurred around 08:00 UTC when Carisma, which was navigating in tandem with another unit, became separated from its partner vessel. As a result, it struck the two moored cruise ships. The impact was strong enough to break several of the cruise vessels' mooring lines.
Despite the collision, no major structural damage was noted on any of the vessels involved.
The Carisma, a freighter flying the Dutch flag, was built in 1998.
