HX Expeditions has reported that its Antarctica season from October 2025 to March 2026 was the most successful in the company’s history, according to a press release.

“This has been an extraordinary season, not only in terms of guest numbers and satisfaction, but in the depth of scientific engagement and responsible travel practices,” said Gebhard Rainer, chief executive officer of HX Expeditions.

“As the largest operator, we recognize the responsibility that comes with our scale. Our focus is, and always will be, ensuring that Antarctica remains protected for future generations.”

During the season, the company completed 34 voyages to Antarctica. Bookings increased by 5 percent globally compared to 2025, with some regions seeing growth of up to 80 percent.

HX also expanded its range of onboard activities, allowing more guests to take part in experiences such as kayaking and camping. Kayaking capacity rose by 188 percent, while the number of camping spots was doubled.

In support of scientific research, HX provided 1,801 guest scientist cruise nights to research initiatives worldwide.

Passengers also contributed to fundraising efforts, helping generate €124,882 for the HX Foundation, which supports conservation projects, plastic reduction initiatives, and community programs.

Additional upgrades were introduced for the 2025-2026 season, including later departures from Buenos Aires, improved charter flights using JetSMART’s A321 aircraft, and adjusted return flight schedules to Ushuaia.
