Holland America Line has introduced a new eight-day Southeast Asia itinerary as part of its 2027-28 winter program.

According to a press release, the shorter sailing provides a rare chance to explore the region with the cruise line in under two weeks. The roundtrip voyage will depart from Singapore aboard the Noordam, beginning on November 27, 2027.

Holland America explained that the new itinerary was designed to give guests a “meaningful introduction to the region without the commitment of a longer cruise.”

A key feature of the cruise is an overnight call in Port Klang, giving passengers around 36 hours to explore both the port and nearby Kuala Lumpur.

“What I love about this itinerary is the contrast you get in just eight days,” said Paul Grigsby, vice president of deployment and revenue planning for Holland America Line.

“You feel the energy and city vibe of Kuala Lumpur, especially with the overnight, and then you balance that with access to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches in places like Phuket. It gives guests a great introduction to Southeast Asia without feeling rushed or overwhelmed,” he added.

The sailing has been designed for travelers looking to experience Southeast Asia’s culture, cuisine, and key destinations within a manageable timeframe.

Ports of call include:

  • Kuala Lumpur (via Port Klang)
  • George Town, Malaysia
  • Porto Malai in Langkawi
  • Phuket, Thailand

The itinerary also includes a late evening departure from Singapore, allowing guests extra time to explore the city before setting sail.

For those wanting a longer vacation, the eight-day cruise can be paired with a 14-Day Far East Discovery itinerary.

Holland America added that these combined itineraries do not repeat ports, offering travelers the chance to visit a wider range of destinations across the Malacca Straits, the Gulf of Thailand, and the South China Sea.
