Princess Cruises Unveils 116-Day World Cruise for 2028
Princess Cruises has opened bookings for its 2028 world cruise, which will be operated by the Coral Princess. The voyage will span 116 days and visit 49 destinations across 24 countries on five continents.
The sailing departs from Fort Lauderdale on January 3, 2028, and will include visits to 39 UNESCO World Heritage Sites along the way. Guests will also have the option to book shorter segments of the journey, ranging from 20 to 100 nights, allowing travelers to tailor the itinerary to their preferences.
During the voyage, the 2,000-guest Coral Princess will cover more than 36,000 nautical miles, crossing both the equator and the International Date Line.
The itinerary begins with a transit of the Panama Canal before continuing to Hawaii and the South Pacific. Stops in destinations such as Samoa and Fiji offer guests the opportunity to explore tropical islands and local cultures.
The ship will then continue on to Australia and New Zealand, where travelers will visit well-known cities including Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland while also experiencing the region’s natural scenery and wildlife.
From there, the voyage heads across the Indian Ocean to islands such as Mauritius and Réunion before arriving in South Africa. Guests will enjoy an overnight stay in Cape Town and a first-ever call in Mossel Bay, a coastal town recognized for its beaches and historical significance. Mossel Bay is also home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring coastal caves that contain some of the earliest evidence of human life, dating back more than 160,000 years.
After exploring the west coast of Africa, the itinerary continues into the Mediterranean before the ship crosses the Atlantic Ocean on the return journey to North America.
The cruise also includes several extended port visits to allow travelers more time to explore certain destinations. Overnight stays are scheduled in Cape Town and Auckland, while late departures will take place in cities such as Barcelona, Casablanca, Dubrovnik, Honolulu, Melbourne and Sydney.
In addition, Princess Cruises will offer guests the chance to participate in a safari excursion at a wildlife reserve in Africa.
Members of the Princess Captain’s Circle loyalty program can receive exclusive benefits for the sailing, including up to $3,000 in onboard credit per stateroom. Travelers become eligible for the program after completing just one cruise with the company.
