Indian LPG Tankers Cleared to Transit Strait of Hormuz
Two LPG tankers sailing under the Indian flag, Jag Vasant and Pine Gas, have received clearance from Iranian authorities to transit the Strait of Hormuz.
Both vessels departed from the United Arab Emirates in the early hours of March 23 and are currently navigating along the Iranian coastline. They are expected to pass between Larak and Qeshm islands, following a route designated by Iran for ships granted safe passage.
According to India’s Press Information Bureau (PIB), Jag Vasant is transporting around 47,600 metric tonnes of LPG and is en route to Kandla, with an expected arrival on March 26. Meanwhile, Pine Gas is carrying approximately 45,000 metric tonnes of LPG and is scheduled to reach New Mangalore Port by the morning of March 27.
JagVasant is operating under charter for Bharat Petroleum Corporation, while Pine Gas has been chartered by Indian Oil Corporation.
