Man Rescued After Falling Between Ship and Dock in Nassau

A man was rescued from the water on Sunday after accidentally falling between the Norwegian Encore and the dock at Nassau Cruise Port. Videos shared on social media show the incident unfolding and immediately drew the attention of those nearby.

The fall occurred shortly after the ship docked in Nassau on November 16 during its seven day Caribbean cruise departing from Miami.

According to posts online, witnesses reported that the man had been standing on the dock or had just begun stepping onto the ramp leading to the ship when he slipped and fell into the water. In the footage, he is seen clinging to a buoy and struggling to stay above the surface while bystanders call out for assistance.

People in the area quickly found a ladder and worked together to pull him from the water.

It has not yet been confirmed whether the man was a passenger or a member of the crew aboard the Norwegian Encore.
