More Australian Ports to Welcome Cruise Ships for 2026-2027

Melbourne and Adelaide are expected to account for a greater proportion of departures during the 2026 – 2027 cruise season, while Fremantle is anticipated to play an increasingly important role in future years.

“The traditional Australian cruise gateways remain central, but the picture is becoming more geographically diverse,” Katz said.

Carnival Cruise Line will have four ships operating locally, including the year-round Carnival Adventure, *Carnival Encounter *and Carnival Splendor.

Royal Caribbean International will deploy *Anthem of the Seas *from Sydney, while Quantum of the Seas is scheduled to begin its final Australian season sailing from Brisbane.

Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Solstice will return to the region, while Princess Cruises will operate multiple vessels from Australian ports. Norwegian Spirit and Holland America Line’s *Noordam *will also feature in the regional schedule.

Oceania Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Viking and Silversea are each planning to deploy several ships to the region. Azamara, Ponant, Crystal and Coral Expeditions will also offer Australian itineraries.

However, Disney Wonder and Cunard will not be present during the season.

Cruise options will range from short coastal voyages and Tasmania sailings to full circumnavigations of Australia and itineraries visiting the Great Barrier Reef and Top End. International cruises will also connect Australian ports with destinations including New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia and other parts of the South Pacific.
