MSC Sinfonia is currently sailing back to Europe without passengers onboard after completing its winter deployment in South America.

The MSC Cruises vessel, which spent the past four months operating in the Brazilian market, began its repositioning journey from Santos on March 17, 2026.

As part of the voyage, the 2002-built ship is expected to make a technical stop in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, on March 28, 2026. It will then continue directly to its homeport in Bari, where it is scheduled to begin its European summer season on April 4, 2026.

During the summer, MSC Sinfonia will operate a series of seven-night cruises in the Eastern Mediterranean through late October.

The itineraries will include calls at:

  • Corfu
  • Argostoli
  • Piraeus
  • Santorini
  • Katakolon

Bari will serve as the main departure port for these sailings.

Following the summer season, the ship is set to move to the Western Mediterranean in early November, where it will spend the winter operating itineraries to Spain, Italy, and France.

MSC Sinfonia was the second ship in the fleet, after MSC Armonia, to complete its 2025-26 winter program in South America.

Operating alongside four other MSC vessels, the ship had been offering short cruises from Santos since late November.

These included:

  • Three- and four-night itineraries to destinations in Rio de Janeiro state, such as Ilha Grande and Búzios
  • Seven-night cruises between December and February, with embarkation options in Rio de Janeiro and Itajaí

MSC’s 2025-26 South America season continues through early April, with MSCSeaview and MSC Preziosa offering itineraries across Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay.

The cruise line is scheduled to return to the region in mid-November for the 2026-27 season with a four-ship deployment. This will include the introduction of MSC Virtuosa to the market.

Additional ships planned for the upcoming season include MSC Divina, MSCMusica, and MSC Splendida, further strengthening the company’s presence in South America.
