Noord River Vessel Collision Reported Near Alblasserdam

Two inland motor vessels were involved in a collision on the Noord River near Alblasserdam in the Netherlands on the evening of January 5. Authorities confirmed that the incident resulted in no injuries and no marine pollution.

The freighter Den Bosch Max Groen collided with the motor tanker MaikDeymann, causing damage to the port side of one of the vessels. Emergency services, including police, Seaport Police, and ambulance crews, were sent to the scene as a precaution. Rijkswaterstaat also responded by dispatching a vessel to provide assistance.

Following the collision, both ships were secured near the BCTN container terminal at Nieuwland Park in Alblasserdam, where inspections were carried out. An investigation has been opened to determine the cause of the incident.
