The Norwegian Sun has arrived at a shipyard in Singapore to undergo routine drydock maintenance, after completing a winter deployment across Southeast Asia and the Far East.

The 2,000-guest vessel reached the yard on April 2, 2026 and the scheduled work is expected to cover standard maintenance and required class inspections. Once the 11-day drydock is complete, the ship is due to resume operations in Singapore on April 13, 2026.

From there, the Norwegian Sun will begin a 16-night repositioning cruise to Port Louis, marking its transition to the Indian Ocean and African regions. The itinerary includes stops in Thailand, the Maldives, Seychelles, and Madagascar before concluding in Mauritius.

Following this voyage, the ship will operate an 11-night cruise visiting Madagascar, Réunion, and South Africa.

In early May, the vessel will depart Cape Town for a 22-night journey to Southampton. This itinerary highlights several West African ports, including less frequently visited destinations such as Takoradi in Ghana, Abidjan in Ivory Coast, and Luanda in Angola.

After arriving in the UK in early June, the Norwegian Sun will begin its Northern Europe summer season. Plans then call for the ship to reposition to North America in mid-October, offering a transatlantic crossing to New York before continuing to Miami for the winter season.

The vessel, which was acquired by Cordelia Cruises in 2025, is expected to leave Norwegian Cruise Line’s fleet in late 2027 after completing one final summer in Europe.

Once transferred, it will be renamed Cordelia Sun and will operate domestic itineraries in India alongside its sister ship, the Norwegian Sky, which has also joined the Cordelia fleet.
