Princess Cruises Revamps App With Easier Navigation Features
Princess Cruises has released a major update to its mobile app, introducing a redesigned interface, clearer terminology, and new tools to help guests plan, book, and manage their vacations more easily. The enhancements are intended to provide a smoother, more intuitive experience from the time a cruise is reserved through to disembarkation.
Among the most noticeable changes is a redesigned navigation bar. While the app continues to feature four primary sections, several familiar tabs have been renamed to better reflect their functions.
The former **Service **tab is now called Reserve, serving as the main destination for booking onboard experiences such as specialty dining, spa appointments, shore excursions, beverage packages, and other services. The onboard food and drink delivery service, previously known as OceanNow, is now available through a Delivery button within the Reserve section.
Other navigation updates include renaming the **Journey **tab to **Planner **and changing **Profile **to Account. Princess has also simplified several other terms throughout the app to improve usability. For example, **OceanReady **is now Check-In, **CrewCall Chat **becomes Chat with Crew, MedallionNet Wi-Fi is shortened to Wi-Fi, and **Shipmates **has been renamed **Companions **for dining reservations.
The app’s redesigned home screen now changes automatically to match each stage of a guest’s trip. Before departure, it highlights important tasks such as check-in, arrival times, luggage tags, boarding passes, and booking information. It also features countdown timers and promotional offers to encourage guests to complete pre-cruise planning. Once onboard, the home screen shifts its focus to daily schedules, dining options, onboard activities, and safety information before transitioning to disembarkation details as the voyage comes to an end.
Princess said the updated design streamlines common tasks by reducing the number of steps required while delivering a more personalized and engaging digital experience. The refresh also includes updated branding and visual elements across the app.
Guests sailing on back-to-back cruises will also benefit from a new feature in the Planner section, allowing them to browse shore excursions for their next voyage before their current sailing has finished.
Additional improvements include a simplified Account section that makes onboard account details, celebrations, preferences, and consent settings easier to find. Photo downloads are now more prominently displayed on disembarkation day, while the onboard chat feature remains available only during the cruise itself.
