Princess, Holland America Leadership Change for Alaska Cruise Operations
Holland America Line and Princess Cruises have announced a new leadership appointment within their shared Alaska and Yukon operations team.
According to a company statement, Ralph Samuels will retire from his role as vice president of government affairs on June 2, 2026, bringing to a close nearly 18 years with the organization.
Ralph’s steady leadership, integrity and deep understanding of our industry have left a lasting mark on our business,” said Robert Morgenstern, senior vice president of Alaska operations. “We are grateful for his many contributions and wish him the very best in a well-earned retirement.
Micaela Fowler will succeed Samuels in the position. Fowler joined the company last year as director of southeast Alaska government and community relations. Prior to joining Holland America Line and Princess Cruises, she served as Alaska’s Deputy Commissioner of Commerce, where she managed a range of government programs and initiatives.
Micaela has quickly become a trusted voice for Alaska and Yukon operations for Holland America and Princess,” Morgenstern added. “She is well positioned to build on the strong foundation Ralph established and to continue our strong partnership in the state of Alaska.
