Quantum of the Seas Cruise Canceled Due to Cyclone Alfred

Passengers scheduled to board Quantum of the Seas for a three-night cruise on March 7 were met with unfortunate news—the sailing has been canceled due to the impact of Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
The storm, which has forced the closure of the Port of Brisbane, has also delayed the ship’s previous voyage, making it impossible to accommodate its next set of travelers as planned.
In a letter to affected guests, Royal Caribbean International expressed its regret over the cancellation and assured them of compensation for the inconvenience. The cruise line is providing full refunds, covering non-refundable deposits and prepaid amenities.
Guests who booked airfare through Royal Caribbean will receive automatic refunds, while those who arranged their travel independently are eligible for reimbursement of change fees—up to $200 USD per guest for domestic travel and $400 USD per guest for international travel.
To help ease the disappointment, Royal Caribbean is also offering passengers a Future Cruise Credit (FCC), which they can apply toward a future sailing.
As Tropical Cyclone Alfred continues to disrupt travel and maritime operations in the region, this cancellation underscores the unpredictable nature of severe weather events. Affected guests are encouraged to stay updated on any further developments and consider rescheduling their cruise with Royal Caribbean.
