Sun Princess Crew Celebrates Princess Cup Victory

The crew aboard Sun Princess has a reason to celebrate after the vessel received the Princess Cup, a special Princess Cruises trophy that recognizes exceptional performance across the company’s fleet.

The Princess Cup is an internal competition created to reward shipboard teams that deliver some of the strongest results for the cruise line. Performance has been linked to important guest experience measures, including Overall Net Promoter Score (NPS), Crew Friendliness and Officer Visibility.

Rather than being a conventional cruise industry award, the Princess Cup recognizes the collective achievements of the crew. Success depends on teamwork throughout the vessel, involving departments such as housekeeping, food and beverage, guest services and entertainment, as well as deck and technical teams and the ship’s officers.

Despite only being introduced in 2023, the Princess Cup has already established some history within the Princess Cruises fleet. Sapphire Princess became the first vessel to receive the trophy and soon emerged as a particularly successful competitor. The ship went on to secure the Cup on several further occasions.

Other ships have since claimed the honor, including Discovery Princess, Sky Princess and Coral Princess. Their victories have helped establish the Cup as a friendly competition among shipboard teams throughout the Princess Cruises fleet.

The Princess Cup is a traveling trophy that is passed on to the latest winning vessel, while earlier victories are recorded on its base.
