Swire Renewable Energy, a company specializing in the inspection, repair, and maintenance of wind turbines, is joining forces with Tien Li Offshore Wind Technology, a Taiwanese manufacturer of wind turbine blades, to expand their services in the Taiwanese offshore wind market and across the Asia Pacific region.

The partnership was cemented in Taipei through a memorandum of understanding, aiming to establish a joint venture. This venture focuses on cultivating a vast pool of local Taiwanese talent proficient in various skills, including blade repair, electrical and mechanical maintenance, offshore marine logistics, and the operation and maintenance of wind turbines.

In 2023, Swire Renewable Energy established its presence in Taiwan, contributing to major projects like the Greater Changhua, Yunlin, Chang Fang Xi Dao, and Zhong Neng offshore wind farms over the past two years.

Ryan Smith, CEO of Swire Renewable Energy, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, “Swire Renewable Energy is looking forward to collaborating with a strong partner in Tien Li, particularly given our recent acquisition of blade repair specialist Altitec, and Tien Li’s blade manufacturing experience. The companies share a common mission to advance the efficiency and sustainability of offshore wind operations in Taiwan and we look forward to expanding our service coverage with this new partnership.”
